How it works

What happens, so you do not have to ask

You do not need anything ready before you contact us. Most families call or email with the words in a document and photographs on a phone, and that is a perfectly good starting point.

Send what you have. Photographs from a phone, scans, prints, a Word document, or notes in an email. If the photographs are old prints, we can scan them properly so they reproduce well, and we handle originals with care. If it is easier to email us a photograph from your phone, that is fine for us to see what you have, though for the actual printing we will ask for the original, because a phone snap of a photo loses too much quality.

We lay it out. Layout, photograph retouching and proofreading are included, not extra. If a photograph is faded, creased, or has someone else in it who should not be there, we can repair it gently. If you have seen a design you like, send a photo of it and we will work in the same spirit.

You see a proof before anything prints. Always. You check the names, the dates, the order of the readings and the hymns. Take the time you need with it, because we would rather wait than have something wrong. For larger orders we will print you a single finished sample to hold before we run the rest.

Then we print, and we work to your date. These jobs go ahead of everything else in the studio, and same day or next day is normal. Out of hours and weekend collection can be arranged, and we can deliver to the funeral director directly if that is easier, so just tell us who and where.

On quantity. People usually order a few more than they expect to need, because families ask for copies afterwards and reprinting later costs more per copy than printing them together. 50 is our smallest priced quantity and 100 is the most common.

On the two options. Standard is a 200gsm cover with 130gsm inside pages. Premium is a 300gsm cover with 200gsm inside pages, noticeably heavier in the hand and better at holding a photograph. Both are printed full colour throughout. Silk and gloss finishes are the same price and look very similar, and if you want a true high gloss that needs lamination, which we can quote. Longer booklets than 12 pages, and matching graveside or hymn booklets, are quoted per job.

If you would rather just talk to someone, call 020 8520 0996 or 07391 970040. We will take it from there.

Questions about funeral order of service

How quickly can you print an order of service?

Quickly. These jobs always come first, and same day or next day is normal. Call us and we will work to the date you have.

We only have old photos. Can you help?

Yes. We can scan, repair and gently retouch photographs so they print well, and we handle originals with care.

Can you match a design the family has seen?

Send a photo or example of what you have in mind and we will lay yours out in the same spirit.

We have not got the words finalised yet. Can we still start?

Yes. Send us what you have and we will begin the layout. Changes before the proof is approved are expected and there is no charge for them.

Can you include a photograph on the front and inside?

Yes, as many as you would like. Tell us roughly where you want them and we will suggest a layout that works with the page count.

How many pages should it be?

Eight pages suits most services and twelve gives room for more photographs, readings or a longer tribute. Longer booklets are quoted per job. We will tell you which fits your content once we have seen it.

Can you deliver to the funeral director?

Yes. Give us the name and address and we will arrange it.

What if we need more copies afterwards?

We keep the file, so a reprint is one phone call with no setup cost.

Can you print matching hymn or graveside booklets?

Yes. Tell us the pages and quantity and we will quote it alongside the order of service so everything matches and arrives together.
