Most business cards that reach us are nearly right. The design is fine, the logo is good, and then one small setup problem turns a £40 job into a reprint. These are the four we catch most often, and we catch them free on every order before anything goes on the press.
Text too close to the trim. A guillotine is accurate to about half a millimetre, but across a stack of 100 cards that tolerance stacks up. Anything closer than 4mm to the edge risks looking off-centre on the cards at the bottom of the pile. Pull your details in and the card looks more confident anyway.
No bleed. If your background colour or photo runs to the edge of the card, it needs to run 3mm past the edge in the file, so the trim cuts through colour rather than beside it. Without it you get a thin white sliver down one side. If your file has no bleed, we add it as part of the free check, not as an extra.
A logo pulled off a website. Screen logos are usually low resolution and only a few hundred pixels wide, which shows as soft edges on type once printed. Send the original vector file if you have one: an .ai, .eps or .pdf. If all you have is the PNG from your website, our artwork editing service can usually redraw or sharpen it from £15.
Screen blues that turn purple. Bright screen blues and vivid oranges sit outside what CMYK ink can reproduce. We convert and adjust rather than letting the press make that decision for you, and if a colour is going to shift noticeably we tell you before we print, not after.
350gsm silk is our standard and it is what most people picture when they picture a business card. The 400gsm laminated option is noticeably stiffer and more scuff resistant, which earns its extra £25 per 100 if your cards live in a van, a toolbag or a back pocket rather than a card holder. Business cards are usually the first job rather than the only one. Trades and clinics around E17 tend to add letterheads on matching stock so quotes and invoices look like they come from the same business. Shops and cafes pair cards with A6 flyers for the counter. Makers and market traders add product labels so the packaging matches the card in the bag.

Yes, single or double sided. Double sided adds a little to the price, so ask when you order and we will confirm before you pay. Most people put contact details on the front and either a service list, a QR code or a loyalty stamp grid on the back.
Email it to info@walthamprint.co.uk, or paste a Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or WeTransfer link into the order form. Either is fine. Send the original file rather than a screenshot, because email keeps it at full quality and that is what we print from.

At 1000 the unit cost drops to under 10p a card, but most customers reorder 100 or 200 at a time rather than sitting on a box of 1000 with an old phone number on them. If your details are settled, buy in bulk. If anything might change, do not.
